This Saturday, The Williamsburg is hosting an Open House from 12-5. Make sure to drop by and check out some of the area’s newest rentals. Afterwards, head over to Artists and Fleas to look through some of these local artist’s beautiful wares. It’s the perfect place to find new takes on jewelry, artwork, clothing and more.
On Sunday, stop by The Shelton from 1-3 for an Open House and spend the rest of the afternoon at the Afropunk Fest at Commodore Barry Park. This two-day festival features top musical acts, morning yoga, markets to shop and delicious food trucks from around the city.
If you’re heading uptown, hop on the Nostalgia Ride to the Bronx from Grand Central to Van Cortlandt Park. Ride on WW1 era subway cars to the park and walk the nature trail or explore the Van Cortlandt House Museum, or visit nearby Fieldston Lofts for an Open House from 12 – 1:30. Pack a picnic lunch to take in all that the park has to offer and enjoy the historic ride back downtown.

This Saturday, head to Smorgasburg on the Williamsburg waterfront to taste delicious treats from local eateries; the market opens at 11 so make sure to get there early and hungry. After a stroll along the water, drop by the Open House at The Williamsburg, HPDM’s newest rentals, from 12-5. Some of these sun-lit apartments offer Williamsburg Bridge or Manhattan views.
Sunday, come by The Shelton from 1-3 for an Open House. Afterwards, stop by The Hattie Carthan Herban Farmers Market until 6 to pick up some locally grown herbs and vegetables. This weekend they will be hosting a workshop on Extending the Summer Harvest, which will feature instructions on how to make marinades and use the herbs growing in the garden to make seasonings.
In Riverdale, Fieldston Lofts is hosting an Open House on Sunday from 12-1:30. Make sure to drop by Wave Hill afterwards to experience some of the butterfly activities going on this weekend. Guided butterfly tours and family art projects are just a few of the activities you can be a part of, along with regular tours of the grounds and museum.

The Museum of the City of New York is hosting seminars and viewings of their “Making Room” exhibition, a showcase of new designs for New York City’s growing housing needs, all week long. The exhibition will be on display until September 2nd, but this week you can see people living and interacting in the small spaces and attend seminars on organizing in a micro-unit, and how to best decorate or cook in your tiny home. Singles, couples and roomates will live in the space for 24 hours at a time and be on display in the 325 sq.ft apartment to demonstrate how these innovative designs can change the way large cities house their populations. This weekend, drop by our Open House at The Shelton from 1-3 and hop over to The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens afterwards for guided tours of the grounds, composting tips and a relaxing day. Don’t forget to bring your camera to take some snaps of the beautiful plants and foliage in the gardens.

Starting at 9 AM on Sunday at MS/HS 141 (Independence Avenue at West 237th Street), hop in line to get fresh produce, local baked bread, cheese, pickles and handmade goods. After a quick snack, stop by Fieldston Lofts for an Open House from 1:30-3.
If you’re in Brooklyn, Sunday’s a perfect day for a bike ride over to DUMBO for Smorgasburg. Featuring food vendors from around the NY region, Smorgasburg offers savory bites, sweet treats and everything in between.
